Aviva donate Pot Noodles galore

Aviva (previously Norwich Union) staff in Sheffield have adopted The Cathedral Archer Project as their charity of the year.  One of their first activities was to collect pot noodles that are given out in food parcels to people sleeping rough in the city centre.  They collected 381 pot noodles, beating the previous amount raised by a local firm of solicitors.

When the charity committee visited the Cathedral Archer Project (CAP) they were told about the pot noodle challenge and were determined to beat the previous total of 73 raised earlier this year.

For rough sleeper, a pot noodle is an instant hot meal.  They get nourishment and warmth and they only have to source hot water which they can often get for free from friendly cafes, garages and some supermarkets.  This donation will be a great benefit for the homeless clients at CAP and ensure we can give them at least 1 hot meal a week until our harvest collection.

Staff fundraising is already underway and the CAP has already benefitted from the creativity and generosity of the Aviva staff and company.

Tracy Viner, CAP fundraising manager commented, “We have been overwhelmed by the positive response we have had from Aviva staff to the project.  They have really taken us to heart, collecting food, stationery and toiletries as well as understanding we also need financial support, so been raising money too.  We are looking forward to working with them over the year.”
