A tribute to Dennis

Dennis Bradley

Dennis Bradley

The funeral forDennis Bradley, founder and director of the Cathedral Archer Project took place on Thursday 25th February in Sheffield Cathedral.

This is a short tribute to Dennis and the support he gave to the project and Sheffield Cathedral.

Dennis Bradley is one of the Cathedral Archer Project’s chief supporters and longest serving trustee.

Dennis has been an ever present figure for the project from its early days serving breakfasts in the Cathedral hall.

As a director, Dennis visited weekly to ensure all was well and to enquire whether his services were needed.  Frequently they were.  Dennis listened, supported, encouraged and joined in the work of the project.  Over the past 20 years Dennis has served breakfasts, re-plastered walls, ensured health and safety standards and been a stalward director and trustee.  Above all else, people at the project thought of him as a friend always available with words of wisdom and quiet advice.

As a member of the Cathedral, and former church warden, Dennis represented the needs of the project to the Cathedral congregation and kep the project informed of the Cathedral’s support for its work.  It was during his service as church warden that Dennis has the opportunity to support the fledgling breakfast for homeless people.  Since that time he has been an integral part of the project’s development and has consistently looked at any issue from the point of view of the service users.

Dennis will be sadly missed by the staff, volunteers and clients that got to know him over the years.  We wish his family all the best at this very sad time.
