For more than three decades, The Archer Project has supported thousands of people who were homeless in Sheffield. We provide a number of services designed to help people move away from homelessness. We believe the end of homelessness should have new opportunities for a satisfying life, whatever that may mean to the individuals who are building a new life. We hope that includes good health and wellbeing, a home that is enjoyed and the chance to take part in the wider society, whether that is through employment, belonging to groups and / or giving time as a volunteer.
Would you like to give a few hours per week to support a charity with purpose?
Does a regular, permanent ongoing volunteering pattern sound compatible with your availability?
Are you a calm, friendly person, who thrives in an environment that values teamwork?
Would you describe yourself as reliable, trustworthy, patient, meticulous, and organised?
If so, then it sounds like you’re just the person we’ve been looking for! You will play a critical part in helping us oversee the donations of food, apparel, footwear, toiletries, rucksacks and sleeping bags we receive from churches, businesses, community organisations, schools, and the wider public on a regular basis. The VOLUNTEER Donations Sorter will have the chance to work in a friendly team, meet people from all walks of life and make new friends. This position would also provide the successful candidate with the time to develop or practise their confidence, interpersonal skills, non-profit sector knowledge, and to deepen their understanding of homelessness. No qualifications or volunteering experience is required.
