Our annual Thank-a-thon is the perfect opportunity to show Archer Project supporters just how much you mean to our charity.
Lived experience volunteers (Partner Volunteers), who are currently being supported at varying stages of homelessness, were invited to take part in yesterday’s event.
With music, snacks and pens at the ready, Archer Project staff, volunteers and trustees sat down together in our canteen. We hand wrote personal messages to over 500 donors, randomly selected to receive a thank you card.
Costel, who is employed by our social enterprises at Archer Project, also wanted to help write cards.
"It’s exciting to write directly to the donors. It shows respect for donating to our Project from me as someone who was homeless. It doesn’t matter how much money they gave, little or a lot," Costel said.
"It was emotional for me but positive. I enjoyed writing cards with everyone, I used my pen I bought when some of us went on a visit to Parliament together from Archer Project."
Lucy Wilks, Deputy Head of Fundraising, said: "Taking the time to thank people who’ve donated is hugely important to us. Archer Project supporters are the reason we can be there for people, providing safety and connection on the challenging path out of homelessness.
"It’s been a great day and having six of our lived experience volunteers join in was the highlight, honestly."
If you’ve donated to The Archer Project in the past year, you might get a Thank-a-thon card in the post very soon!
We wish we could write to every single supporter, but even if you don’t get a card this Thank-a-thon, please know this; your donation has a direct impact for people who are changing their lives at Archer Project, and we couldn’t do this without you. Thank you.
