The Nest newsletter – Edition 43

23rd November 2025

Introducing Alfred

Behind every cover of The Archer Project's biannual newsletter is a real person with a unique story.

Alfred first visited us last year for support and has since become one of our Partner Volunteers. He works in the donation storage, laundry service and supports other volunteers and beneficiaries.

In his own words:

"I express my deepest gratitude for the help I received from Archer Project while I was homeless. The team helped me to regain my dignity when I felt like I had lost it all. Because of Archer Project intervention now I have hope for the future and am on the path of achieving stable housing and self-sufficiency.

"We live in a world people really struggling. A lot of people [at Archer Project] I think feel nobody cares about them so sometimes the little conversation you have make them feel like they are part of the society..."

Marketing Consent

In May 2025, for our summer newsletter we made an update to our Marketing Consent. Supporters who had previously already opted in to receive the biannual newsletter were made aware that going forward this would be marked specifically as being opted in to receive a physical copy.

Anyone who wished to update their Consent Preferences was directed to do so at: https://archerproject.org.uk/keep-in-touch

If you have any questions regarding the above update, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us at: contactus@archerproject.org.uk

In order to communicate the above update, and provide the opportunity to update Consent Preferences, all recipients of a print copy of Edition 42 of The Nest received an accompanying letter with the following message:

Hello,

We’d like to thank you for your continued support of The Archer Project, and hope you enjoy reading our enclosed newsletter.

You have received this edition of ‘The Nest’ because you are currently opted in to receive a physical copy of our newsletter by post.

If you would like to continue receiving our newsletter in this format, you do not need to take any action.

You can help us save on costs and resources by switching to receiving our newsletter in its digital format. Thank you for considering this.

We will be making a change within our database to reflect our supporters’ preferences for receiving the newsletter as follows:

With regards to the newsletter specifically, there will be tick boxes on each supporter’s record to allow for the possibility of one of the following three options:

  • Receiving a physical copy of our newsletter by post

  • Receiving a digital copy of our newsletter by email

  • Both of the above

To update your communication preferences, please fill in the form on our website by scanning the QR code on the right-hand side of this text, or by visiting: https://archerproject.org.uk/keep-in-touch [QR code not shown here directed to the same link]

Our deepest thanks,
